Pakistan’s Interior Minister Arrives in Tehran for ECO Summit

Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Minister of Interior and head of the country’s anti-narcotics efforts, arrived in Tehran on the morning of Monday, October 28, to attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Ministerial Meeting.
The visit, which began in Lahore, is aimed at participating in the fourth meeting of interior ministers from ECO member states, hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The summit is scheduled to take place today at the Conference Hall of Islamic Countries’ Heads of State in the Iranian capital.
According to published information, Naqvi’s itinerary extends beyond attending the main event. He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit with Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi and several other senior Iranian officials.
The ECO meeting brings together the interior ministers of member countries. In addition, representatives from regional nations such as the Republic of Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman, along with delegations from regional organizations, are participating as guests at the event.
The Economic Cooperation Organization is a regional body aimed at strengthening economic, trade, and development ties among its member states. These meetings provide a platform for dialogue on regional security, combating transnational crime, and addressing shared threats.
