Five Afghan Agricultural Firms Showcase Products at Saudi Agriculture Expo

Five Afghan entrepreneurs and agricultural sector representatives took part in the 42nd International Agriculture Exhibition in Saudi Arabia, where they showcased locally produced goods such as saffron, dried fruits, and nuts.
Their participation was supported by the Agricultural Revival and Sustainable Growth Program (ACRP), a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) initiative funded by the European Union. The program aims to support local producers and link Afghanistan’s agricultural value chain to global markets.
Afghan residents and farmers, who have been severely affected by decades of war and instability, face significant challenges when it comes to marketing their products. Participation in international events like this offers new opportunities for exports.
However, the Taliban government has imposed economic and social restrictions, limiting the broader participation of the private sector and significantly weakening Afghanistan’s trade and agricultural infrastructure. International organizations are expected to step up efforts to empower Afghan farmers more than ever before.
