Shamshad TV Resumes Broadcasts After Temporary Shutdown in Afghanistan

Shamshad Media has resumed its television and radio broadcasts, as well as activity on its social media platforms in Afghanistan, following a complete suspension that lasted several days.
According to officials from the media outlet, Shamshad’s broadcasts were halted last Friday night. They noted that the shutdown affected not only its television and radio services but also its social media pages.
Despite the passage of several days since the interruption, the Taliban administration has yet to offer any official explanation for the media blackout.
Shamshad is one of Afghanistan’s most prominent and widely viewed media outlets. In recent years, it has faced numerous challenges from the Taliban authorities. Restrictions on media and the continued silence from Taliban officials have intensified concerns over freedom of the press and expression in the country.
