Iran-Afghanistan Innovation Fair Offers New Opportunities for Entrepreneurs

The Iran-Afghanistan joint exhibition, aimed at expanding scientific, economic, and innovative cooperation between the two countries, has created a space for sharing innovative ideas and exploring pathways into the job market. The event focuses on supporting students, graduates, and individuals with creative minds, encouraging them to engage directly with investors and support organizations.

According to ISNA, Elham Zanjiri, Director of the Technology Commercialization and Knowledge-Based Employment Organization at South Khorasan’s Academic Jihad, stated that the institution aims to transform innovative ideas into marketable products and services. “We strive to provide real opportunities for young people and researchers to enter the business world by relying on their knowledge and creativity,” she said.

She added that the South Khorasan Academic Jihad’s booth, number 85 at the exhibition, has been designed as a platform for dialogue between innovators and experts, with consulting services available to help commercialize projects. Zanjiri emphasized, “We believe that every idea, if properly managed, can play a significant role in improving individual lives and advancing society.”

While domestic conditions in Afghanistan have curtailed support spaces for innovators, such events could serve as a gateway for Afghan talent to connect with international networks. However, the key question remains: to what extent will the Taliban administration’s restrictive policies hinder Afghan youth from benefiting from these opportunities?
