Hamid Karzai Condemns Pakistani Airstrikes on Paktika Province

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned recent Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan’s southeastern Paktika province. The air raids, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several Afghan civilians—including young cricket athletes—have sparked widespread domestic outrage.

In a message of condolence, Karzai expressed sympathy for the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured. He described Pakistan’s attacks as a “clear violation of Afghan sovereignty” and called on Islamabad to immediately halt such actions.

Karzai stressed that Pakistan, in pursuit of its own interests, must cease its aggression against the Afghan people and territory. He urged the country to reconsider its policies and move toward a civilized and friendly relationship with Afghanistan based on international norms.

The Taliban administration has so far remained silent on the attacks, a stance that has drawn criticism and anger from many Afghan citizens and civil society organizations.
