TTP Leader Noor Wali Mehsud Denies Death Rumors in Video Message

Noor Wali Mehsud, leader of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has released a new video message confirming he is alive and present in Pakistan’s tribal areas.

The video comes in response to recent reports claiming that Mehsud was killed in a drone strike in Kabul. Various media sources in recent days alleged that this strike was carried out by the Pakistani military and targeted Mehsud specifically.

In the video, Mehsud does not disclose his exact location but dismisses the death rumors as false, aiming to reassure followers of TTP that the group’s leadership remains intact.

The development comes amid renewed concerns over the presence of extremist group leaders in Kabul and other Taliban-controlled areas of Afghanistan. These reports have once again raised alarms about security risks and the possibility of Afghanistan offering safe haven to extremist groups. The Taliban administration has not issued any official statement regarding the matter.

Critics argue that the continued presence of foreign militant leaders in Afghanistan has unsettled neighboring countries and is widening the rift between Kabul and the region. In response to Mehsud’s alleged presence, the Pakistani military carried out two strikes over the past week targeting Kabul and other cities in Afghanistan, purportedly aiming to eliminate the TTP leader.
