Clashes Resume Between Taliban and Pakistani Border Forces in Shorabak District

Fighting between Taliban militants and Pakistani border forces resumed on Tuesday morning in Shorabak district of Kandahar province. Local sources report that the tension escalated after Pakistani forces fired towards Taliban positions.

According to domestic media outlets, including Ariana News, the clashes took place near the disputed Durand Line, a longstanding source of tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This incident occurred just days after a deadly battle on Saturday night, when Taliban fighters attacked Pakistani border posts. That assault significantly heightened the already fragile relations between Kabul and Islamabad.

Currently, there is no precise information regarding casualties or damages resulting from Tuesday’s confrontation. Although the Taliban are recognized as the de facto rulers of Afghanistan, their actions have contributed to insecurity and increased regional challenges.

The Taliban administration has yet to issue an official response concerning this matter. However, the continuation of such confrontations could have more worrisome consequences for both border residents and regional stability.
