Taliban Deputy Industry Minister Meets Indian Industry Minister in New Delhi

Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Taliban administration, met with Jitendra Prasad, India’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, during a visit to New Delhi.

In the meeting, both sides emphasized expanding trade cooperation between Afghanistan and India and pledged to create more opportunities for traders to facilitate business activities.

According to released statements, the parties agreed to establish a joint trade committee between the two countries that will hold regular meetings to discuss economic and commercial issues.

Additionally, Zahid, representing the Taliban administration, invited Indian investors to take advantage of opportunities and invest in various sectors of Afghanistan’s economy. This comes amid a politically uncertain environment and human rights pressures under Taliban rule, which pose serious challenges to sustainable investments.
