Taliban Bans Firecracker Use After 9 PM Amid Cultural Restrictions

The Taliban administration has restricted the use of firecrackers during nighttime hours, warning that any use after 9 PM will be prohibited.
Abdul Matin Ghaani, spokesperson for the Taliban Ministry of Interior, stated that in a leadership meeting it was decided that residents may use firecrackers to celebrate their joys only until 8 or 9 PM, and even then, usage should be limited.
Ghaani added that beyond this time, the use of firecrackers will be considered illegal, and the Taliban administration will take legal action against those who violate this regulation.
Firecrackers, commonly used during festivals and special occasions in Afghanistan, are now also covered under the Taliban’s new restrictions on social and cultural activities.
These measures are part of the Taliban administration’s strict policies towards public culture and the expression of joy among residents, an approach that has sparked anger among a large portion of the population.
