Taliban Police Detain 16 Suspects Over Theft, Hand Grenade Attacks, and Drug Trafficking

In the past 24 hours, Taliban police have announced the arrest of 16 residents from four provinces on various criminal charges. These individuals were detained in Herat, Faryab, Nimroz, and Kapisa provinces on suspicion of involvement in theft incidents, hand grenade attacks, and drug trafficking.
According to the released information, seven people in Herat province, three in Faryab, and one in Nimroz are being pursued for suspected involvement in theft. Additionally, in Kapisa province, five others were arrested on charges related to hand grenade attacks and drug trafficking.
The Taliban administration, without providing further details regarding the exact time, location of the arrests, or judicial procedures, described these operations as part of security efforts. Meanwhile, the performance of security agencies under Taliban control faces widespread criticism from human rights organizations and citizens due to a lack of transparency, legal framework, and an independent judiciary system.
The rise in criminal activities under Taliban rule and the absence of effective measures to reduce them have caused serious concerns among Afghanistan’s residents. Many citizens have raised critical questions regarding how the administration handles suspects, respects the rights of the accused, and ensures judicial justice.
