India Sends Fresh Humanitarian Aid to Earthquake Victims in Kunar, Afghanistan

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has announced that the country has sent a fresh batch of humanitarian aid to residents affected by the recent earthquake in Kunar province, Afghanistan.

Ravinder Jaishwal, spokesperson for the ministry, stated in a message on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the aid was dispatched following commitments made during a meeting between Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban government, and S. Jaishankar, India’s Foreign Minister.

The ministry’s spokesperson did not provide details regarding the quantity or type of the aid. It remains unclear how many families or affected areas will benefit from this assistance.

Kunar province in eastern Afghanistan has recently experienced a severe earthquake, causing significant damage to local residents. While regional countries like India strive to provide support to those affected, the Taliban administration has so far failed to respond transparently to the people’s needs or effectively mobilize international aid.
