Armed Clash in Musa Qala Leaves Five Dead

Local sources in Helmand province report that a fierce gunfight broke out on Sunday evening, September 30, between Taliban forces and an unidentified armed group in the village of Regi Ganj, Musa Qala district. The clash resulted in five deaths and two injuries.
According to the sources, three of those killed were Taliban members, while the other two belonged to the opposing group. Both of the injured were also reported to be Taliban fighters.
The Taliban authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, the persistence of such clashes has heightened concerns about growing insecurity in Helmand—a province long plagued by violence and armed groups.
Rising internal conflicts and scattered unrest across Afghanistan continue to highlight the Taliban administration’s failure to establish nationwide stability, placing additional strain on residents in remote areas like Musa Qala.
