Afghan Fruits Draw Attention at India’s 2025 Global Food Expo

On the sidelines of the 2025 Global Food Expo in India, Afghan agricultural products such as pomegranates, grapes, almonds, and raisins have received widespread acclaim. Several Afghan companies participating in the event have successfully forged new trade partnerships and opened fresh avenues for exports.

Organizers of the expo stated that the unique quality and taste of Afghan fruits have attracted the interest of international traders, potentially connecting Afghan farmers to global markets.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced that, in collaboration with the European Union delegation in Afghanistan, it facilitated the participation of these traders and farmers at the global expo. The support aims to help Afghan farmers affected by economic stagnation and their prolonged disconnection from international markets.

Although Afghan agricultural products have great export potential, restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration in recent years have severely limited trade opportunities. Providing platforms for participation in such exhibitions could play a crucial role in Afghanistan’s economic recovery.
