Pakistan Urges Taliban to Take Immediate Action Against Terrorism

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, expressed concern over the current situation in Afghanistan during a coordination meeting of foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Dar pointed to the decline in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and emphasized that Pakistan supports all efforts aimed at peace, stability, and prosperity in the country. He added that Afghanistan’s situation remains a serious concern for Islamabad.

He called on the Taliban to take decisive and effective measures against militant groups that threaten regional security. This request comes amid rising border clashes and growing concerns over insurgent activities along the Durand Line in recent months.

So far, the Taliban have not issued an official response. Pakistani officials have previously urged the Taliban to act against extremist groups, but analysts believe the Taliban’s inaction poses a threat to the security of neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan.
