Iran Recalls Ambassadors from Three European Countries

Iran has recalled three senior diplomats from Europe in response to the activation of the so-called “snapback mechanism,” which Tehran described as a “misuse of the dispute resolution process” under the nuclear deal. The move affects Iran’s ambassadors in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.

According to Iranian media, this decision followed steps taken by the three European nations to reinstate previous United Nations Security Council resolutions, a move Iranian officials denounced as irresponsible.

Disputes over the implementation of the 2015 nuclear accord, known as the JCPOA, have intensified in recent months. European countries argue that Iran has breached its commitments, while Tehran rejects the allegations and accuses Western states of failing to honor their obligations.

The rising tensions between Iran and Europe come as Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities have taken no official stance on the nuclear deal, leaving the country’s foreign policy in a state of uncertainty.
