Qatari Relief Team Arrives in Kabul with Humanitarian Aid

On Wednesday, September 12, a relief delegation from Qatar, led by Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation, arrived in Kabul. The team was deployed to Afghanistan on four special flights of the Qatari Air Force, carrying equipment and humanitarian supplies.

According to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the aid includes two field hospitals, food supplies, medical equipment, and materials needed to provide shelter for approximately 11,000 survivors of the recent earthquake. The initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of affected Afghan residents.

The deployment of this team follows the directive of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and is part of a humanitarian air bridge planned to support Afghanistan in the aftermath of the deadly earthquake.

Despite the urgent need for humanitarian assistance, the Taliban administration has so far not ensured transparency or ease in the distribution process. International relief agencies and local communities have consistently expressed concerns about the management and prioritization of aid distribution under Taliban oversight.
